Recognised Physiotherapy Degree QualificationandRegistered Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP) Health Care Professions Council - Licence to Practice Evidenceof CPDincluding attendance of post graduate short courses relevant to paediatric physiotherapy Experience Experiencewithin NHS ofpost graduate level ofworking in the following fields: orthopaedics, outpatients, respiratory, neurology, paediatrics Experienceat a postgraduate level:

  • assessment treatment and management of children
  • Writing clinical notes and reports
  • Managing own caseload
  • Experience ofworking andteaching other professionals / parents/ carers
  • Working at part of an MDT
  • Skills andKnowledge Well established knowledge of
  • Assessment,treatmentand management of children
  • The role of thephysiotherapistin the Education system.
  • Standards of record keeping and reporting.
  • Range ofappropriate therapeuticinterventions and equipment relevant to CYP
  • Awareness of the differences of a Paediatric versus adult caseload Good written and spoken English Excellent interpersonal skills:including observation, listening and empathy skills Good organisational skillsand to prioritise own workload.     Acute/MSK,Pre-school SpecialNeeds &Special Schools, Schools Services (mainstream and special schools) This post is within the Paediatric Physiotherapy team. This is an experienced rotational post, providing specialist physiotherapy to children and young people (CYP) in a variety of settings. These rotations are preschool special needs/primary special school, mainstream schools/ secondary specialschoolsand acute paediatric inpatients and Musculoskeletal (MSK) outpatients. Each rotation is one-year duration. The post holder will be an autonomous practitioner providing a specialist physiotherapy service to a designated caseload of children with a range of physical and mobility difficulties and Special Educational Needs (SEN) within the specified rotation.A significant proportionof these children will have English as anadditionallanguage (EAL). He/she will be expected to manage their own caseload, travelling between community and acutesettingsand working alongside teaching, medical and nursing staff to ensure specialist therapy programmes and educational plans are in place for children under their care. He/she will be expected to work collaboratively with CYP, parents/carers and colleagues in Health, Education and Social Services in planning and delivery of services.
  • Providing specialist Physiotherapy services children and young people with a variety of conditions within Harrow both in the community and acute settings
  • Providingspecialist advice,programmesand treatment plans to othersregardingthe management and care of CYP with physical difficulties
  • To provide supervision of the work of band 5 physiotherapists,assistantsand volunteers regularly on aday to daybasis
