Band 6 - Senior Diagnostic Radiographer, HWE Surgical Centre

The purpose of this post is to be an effective member of the Radiography team, providing a high standard of radiographic service to Radiologists and patients and supervising radiography staff and students.
The post holder will engage with the 24/7 shift system and the additional shift rota across our three sites: Watford General Hospital, St Albans City Hospital (including the HWE Surgical Centre) and Hemel Hempstead Hospital.

Do you want to be part of a team working in brand new, purpose-built theatres providing planned surgery for patients across Hertfordshire and west Essex?
We are looking NOW for talented staff to form the core team that will be the beating heart of the Hertfordshire and West Essex Surgical Centre being built at St Albans City Hospital and set to open in Spring 2025.
More than 4,000 patients will be seen at the hub each year for non-complex orthopaedic, hip and knee surgery as well as ear, nose and throat procedures and spinal injections. Being separated from emergency services will reduce the risk of short-notice cancellations.
This is a fabulous opportunity to play a key role in a flagship collaborative project between the East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust, Princess Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, West Hertfordshire Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust and Herts and West Essex Integrated Care Board.
The Surgical Centre will focus on Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) standards and will be a highly efficient facility, achieving 85% theatre utilisation and operating sessions over an extended 10-hour day, four days a week, with shorter, 8-hour operating session taking place on Friday and Saturdays.
Interviews will take place week commencing 14th October.
