Band 6 Senior MSK Physiotherapist

An exciting opportunity to work as a band 6 MSK physiotherapist in the 100 million state-of-the-art Heartlands Treatment Centre. The physiotherapy department works closely with the orthopaedic team and also has links to ENT, Rheumatology and Spinal services and we run several clinics linked through these specialities. We treat patients from a wide scope of conditions and referral sources. We are also linking in with the new Elective Surgery Hub being opened at Solihull Hospital which will increase our variety in caseload here at Heartlands Hospital., To provide a high standard physiotherapy service to MSK out-patients within University Hospitals -- based at Heartlands Hospital Treatment Centre, linking in with the other sites in our trust including Good Hope Hospital and Solihull Hospital. Incorporating extended hours over 6/7 day working patterns

To hold responsibility for own case load and be responsible for a defined area of the service, working without direct supervision. Supervision takes the form of regular formal training and clinical reasoning sessions, peer review, case conferences. Access to advice and support from senior physiotherapists is available if required, clinical work is not routinely evaluated. There may also be opportunity to take on a more specialist caseload within this role.

To assist with supervision, education and assessment of the performance of physiotherapy students; this would be to a graduate standard and involve working with universities to ensure the standard of practice and teaching meets the standards set by the degree level qualification.

To assist with supervision, education and mentoring of junior therapy staff.

Undertake evidence-based audit and research projects to further own and teams clinical practice and lead to service development projects. This may involve making recommendations to clinical lead/manager of service for change and the implementation of specific changes to practice or contribute to service protocols.
