Full Job Description
Would you like to provide Speech and Language Therapy to people with swallowing and communication difficulties? Due to maternity leave we have an opportunity for you to be an integral part of an established outpatient SLT team at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham, on a fixed term basis. The successful candidate would provide outpatient Speech and Language Therapy to a range of patients with neurological, voice, respiratory and medical diagnoses for swallowing and communication. Our SLTs benefit from a robust supervision structure alongside innovation, participation in research and clinical/professional development being encouraged. You would be part of a well-established team which also benefits from SLT led Videofluoroscopy and FEES services so opportunities to access these instrumental assessments to help to shape your clinical practice would also be available., The successful candidate would work within the Speech and Language Therapy outpatient team at QEHB serving a diverse clinical caseload. The successful candidate will have a clear passion in assessing and managing swallowing, voice and communication disorders for patients within a varied outpatient setting. You will have close working relationships with ENT, dietetics, Clinical Nurse Specialists and other AHPs. Your responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- assessing and managing patients with communication and swallowing disorders in an outpatient setting, including specialist clinics
