Full Job Description

  • You will provide Speech and Language Therapy at a highly specialist level, with a specific focus on the area of bilingualism, functioning in partnership with other agencies and disciplines to support in the holistic assessment, diagnosis and intervention for children and young people known to the service.

  • You will demonstrate clinical leadership in bilingualism and represent the local team/service area in all appropriate meetings to support and develop quality services for bilingual children and young people across the city in an integrated partnership model.

  • You will be responsible for the day-to-day management and support of a team of SLT staff comprising of bands 4 to 7

  • You will develop strong and effective working relationships with colleagues using highly developed interpersonal skills

  • You will apply BCHC Trust policies regarding staff management with fairness and compassion.

  • + Significant new investment from health and our education partners to grow the team: new posts across a range of bands, including significant growth in our leadership team.
    + We are working closely with Marie Gascoigne and the Better Communication team implementing a Balanced System approach to support children with SLCN, working in partnership with families, the Local Authority and a wide range of stakeholders.
    + We are working in localities developing local networks in order to build skills in the wider workforce and increase the impact of our interventions.
    + Experienced team committed to taking NQPs through preceptor-ship & a culture of ongoing learning and clinical supervision.
    + Strong links with Universities and commitment to student education
