Full Job Description

This is an exciting opportunity for a knowledgeable and skilled individual who holds a keen interest in developing their leadership skills and champions high quality care for some of the most vulnerable members of our society. The successful candidate will provide effective and compassionate leadership to the Intensive Support Team, working closely with the TCP Service Manager and TCP Matron to achieve positive outcomes for our service-users. The Intensive Support Team (IST), within the Learning Disability Division at BCHC, a Multi-disciplinary team comprising Psychiatry, Nursing, SLT, OT and Psychology, provides person-centred, intensive support for adults with learning disabilities who are experiencing crisis. The aim of IST is to reduce/manage behaviours that challenge, working with the person in their own residence, reducing/preventing the need for the use of restrictive practices, inpatient services and out-of-area/residential placements, enabling that person to remain in their community, supported by their family and friends, with ongoing care from the local community teams. Working with our Trust colleagues and the wider health and social care system, this is a great opportunity for candidates to develop professionally and create a fantastic career pathway through the specialty.Main duties of the job The most rewarding element of the IST is that due to its intensive and skilled interventions, they are able to de-escalate crisis, enhance a person's quality of life, and ensure that the service-user is receiving the care they need, in the most appropriate, least restrictive environment, with their rights and selves respected. The role of the Clinical Team Leader is to provide senior clinical leadership and team line management. They will be responsible for ensuring the appropriate communication and clinical interactions takes place with other Healthcare providers of in-patient hospitals and placements.,
