The role will require you to lead a team of nurses whilst having oversight of the day-to-day clinical lists. The senior nurse position will be involved in clinical decision making ensuring the continuation of nurse led PICC and Midline service, nurse led sedation and develop new opportunities for nurses to carry out other minimally invasive procedures. You will see work closely with the wider radiology management and consultant radiologists to implement change, procure new equipment and develop new and exciting procedures. The wider team will support you with the new management aspects that this role requires, whilst also enabling you to develop and learn with host of internal and external courses that Croydon Hospital can provide you.

Enable staff to be effective advocates for the rights and needs of their patients. The Senior Sister is responsible for providing clinical and managerial leadership to nursing and support staff, facilitating practice development within the clinical area. As a visible designated clinical nurse leader, set standards of care and professionalism as per Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) code of conduct and promote teamwork within a multi-professional environment, demonstrating critical analysis and decision making skills, leading the delivery of a clinically excellent service, influencing and facilitating change within the department. Ensure a culture of continuous quality improvement through the use of research, audit, patient feedback and reflection on practice by self and other members of the team Ensure that the care delivered to patients is a result of individual assessment of their need using an appropriate assessment framework and actively seek consent in the delivery of such care.
