Full Job Description

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Band 7 Physiotherapist to join our friendly and supportive Acute Therapy Team. The post holder will take a leading role in identifying appropriate patients for specialist input, assessment, treatment and ongoing plans to ensure the highest level of care. They must be confident in discussing with the wider MDT and external services where required, and take an active role in service development.
We expect the post holder to lead teaching in their specialist area within our team, guiding other staff to improve their knowledge and skills. This will include 1:1 supervision sessions, joint working, informal and formal teaching and service development projects.
We will offer support and training opportunities, both in house and externally, as well as joint working with other services as appropriate. There will be opportunities for attending specialist courses with an expectation that the post holder will then share this learning with the wider team.
The post holder must be willing to take a leading role in the organisation and delivery of the respiratory on call rota, and be willing to upskill other staff where required.
Contributing to the delivery of a robust seven day therapy service in the acute setting which includes clinical areas such as ICU, surgery, elderly care, respiratory care, and general medicine.
Taking a leading role in the delivery of the respiratory on call physiotherapy service.
To take an active role in the advanced assessment and treatment of patients, including those with increased complexity, and maintaining clear records as an autonomous practitioner.
To take a lead role in supervision and training of other staff and students within the acute setting.
To provide skilled clinical leadership and be responsible for service development, undertaking quality improvement projects.
To set and monitor standards of practice, implementing policy and policy changes across the acute therapy service, and making recommendations to team lead/service lead a required.
