We are delighted to be advertising a Specialist Band 7 Team Lead Physiotherapy post in our Surgical Team.
You will be working with patients who are under the care of the surgical teams in a range of regional speciality services.
Thoracic surgery
Upper Gastrointestinal Surgery
Hepato-Billary surgery
Max-Fax surgery
ENT surgery
Lower Gastrointestinal surgery
As Team Lead, alongside a Band 7 OT you will be managing a team of Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy colleagues, along with and Apprentice Physio and Therapy Technicians
You will be working with the surgical and nursing teams to embed Therapies in all aspects of surgical care, fully optimising timely care and patient flow. You will be part of the patient pathway from high care through to discharge, Our exciting and ambitious plan "Embracing Change, Proud to Care - Our 2025 Vision" is seeing significant investment in Adult Therapy Services in order to grow our specialist hospital services positioning ourselves as a leading provider in the Southwest of England and beyond
We are a beacon for outstanding education and research and provide superb training and support, to encourage you to be part of research projects, develop posters and present at conferences. This is in addition to our in-service training programs and staff appraisal systems that are in operation to help you develop and to meet the demands of the post.
We are looking for a Physiotherapist who is already a skilled clinician with previous related surgical care experience. You will be naturally empathetic, demonstrating good communication skills to facilitate close working relationships with both service users and staff.
You will need to be creative and flexible to meet the changing needs of the caseload and service.
You will demonstrate leadership qualities and take an active interest in the teaching and development of others.
You will manage your own caseload, alongside overseeing the workload of the other team members
There will be a commitment to 1:4 weekend working + 2 bank holiday throughout a year. There is also a requirement to contribute to the Respiratory on-call rota., the welfare of children, young people and vulnerable adults.
