Full Job Description

The post is full-time 37.5 hours per week and the successful candidate will be based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital but will work collaboratively to support Clinical Biochemistry & Immunology across all UHB sites. Cross-site working is therefore to be expected to assist working closely with colleagues in continually developing and maintaining the quality management system, ensuring compliance with ISO 15189:2022., The post holder will take the lead specialist role in quality and audit, being responsible for the implementation, delivery and maintenance of the quality management system and such quality initiatives as are deemed necessary to achieve and maintain compliance with UKAS. They are expected to provide leadership, advice, and direction to staff and users on matters relating to the quality management system, accreditation, quality assurance and audit.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our busy, friendly team to work in our progressive Clinical Biochemistry and Immunology laboratories. The department provides a 24/7 diagnostic and monitoring service for routine and urgent automated investigations. The Clinical Biochemistry laboratories are equipped with Abbott Alinity c and i series analysers. The Specialist Biochemistry and Immunology laboratories provide a wide range of tests using specialist equipment and techniques., You MUST have a BSc in Biomedical Science or equivalent with a completed IBMS Specialist portfolio or equivalent and HCPC registration with experience of Biochemistry. This is a senior role the candidate must also have a MSc or Higher Specialist Diploma awarded by the IBMS.
