Norman Power Unit is an off-site, 32 bedded unit based in Ladywood, Birmingham. This pathway 2 unit provides further health and social care assessments for patient. This includes a comprehensive therapy assessment and intervention.

The Norman Power Unit is looking for a Senior Occupational Therapist (Team Lead) to co-ordinate and develop the clinical service and provide leadership to the therapy team.

You will support a small team of Occupational Therapy and Physiotherapy staff on a daily basis, with case load management, alongside regular supervision and appraisals and education.

You will manage a varied caseload requiring a multi-skilled approach with experience and knowledge of discharge planning. You will be required to liaise effectively with community colleagues to co-ordinate timely and safe discharges as well as attend regular referrer and pathway meetings.

The post holder will be supported by the Occupational Therapy Senior team at QEHB. They will have opportunities to work with experts in their field and be offered regular supervision and support., You will be required to support a small team of therapy staff including occupational therapy & physiotherapy. You will be required to liaise effectively with the wider multi-disciplinary team as well as community colleagues to co-ordinate safe and timely patient discharge.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required. You should have excellent organisational and time management skills.

You should be an autonomous practitioner with the ability to prioritise and organise your own workload and support the team where needed.

Comprehensive knowledge & experience of community services are required.

Experience of supporting teams in regular supervision and annual appraisals is required.
