Full Job Description

The Infusion Suite is a Nurse Led Satellite Systemic Anti-Cancer Treatment (SACT) unit with 16 treatment chairs that treats Royal Free London NHS Foundation Trust Patients. The collaborative service is based in a purpose built unit with staff from the Royal Free, Barnet and Chase Farm hospital sites running a premier nursing-led unit. The service isopenon weekdays from 08:00 - 18:00and managedby experienced senior nurses who work closely with patients, consultants, pharmacy and thewidernursing team to ensure the safe delivery of treatment at Finchley Memorial Hospital. You should have proven experience of working as a band 6 or 7 in an oncology setting; at least 2 years' experience in a cancer setting; and evidence of teaching and assessing junior staff and students. This post also requires previous management experience and service improvement., We are looking for an interim Band 7 Senior Sister/Charge Nurse for a period of 4 months with the possibility to extend. The successful candidate will be expected toliaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the speciality. They will be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation.They will act as a role model and mentor promoting excellence through practice and taking responsibility for supervision and development of all staff including student nurses and support workers, providing support, advice and training. They will effectively manage the ward resources, i.e. pay and non-pay budget, human resources, and the clinical environment.
