Full Job Description

The post holder will be expected to liaise appropriately with all key members of the multi-disciplinary team and service users related to the speciality. To be responsible for all aspects of patient care including the assessment, planning, delivery and evaluation of direct patient care. To work weekdays with occasional weekends and/or nights to monitor quality of service throughout a 24 hour period. To take overall responsibility for ensuring the accuracy of the Quality & Safety boards and daily monitoring of planned vs actual staffing levels. To monitor and ensure a positive focussed service incorporating patients' feedback to improve patient care. To be responsible for the supervision and development of all staff including student nurses and support workers, providing support, advice and training. To effectively manage the ward resources, i.e. pay and non-pay budget, human resources, the clinical environment and inclusive of beds where appropriate. To ensure compliance of mandatory training and appraisal requirements for all nursing staff. To act as an effective role model and mentor promoting excellence through practice. To act up for the Matron when necessary,
