Are you passionate about critical care and driven to improve patient outcomes? We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic respiratory physiotherapist to join our senior leadership team. This rare opening has arisen due to retirement within our dedicated and highly skilled respiratory team.
We're seeking a proactive and dynamic individual with expertise in managing complex ventilated patients, long-term ventilator weaning, and early rehabilitation. In this specialised role, you will work as a key clinician in the Intensive Care Unit, while also supporting colleagues across the hospital in caring for respiratory patients. Participation in the weekend rota is required.
This is a full-time, permanent position, but we are happy to discuss flexible working options to suit your needs., The successful candidate will provide therapeutic clinical expertise, high quality advice and support to the multi-disciplinary team. You will work closely with our critical care MDT driving innovation of therapy provision with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
You will be leading on the complex respiratory management of patients and will need to demonstrate skills in complex ventilation weaning, long term ventilation including specialist referrals and early rehabilitation of critical care patients with a wide variety of pathophysiology in a number of specialities.
The post has a strong emphasis on assessment and early rehabilitation as part of a specialist interdisciplinary team within the critical care setting.
You will have the opportunity to lead on service development projects and audit to enhance care and ensure compliance with NICE and relevant Critical Care standards and guidelines.
Clinical supervision, appraisal and teaching will be key components of this role. You will work closely with another B7 in the respiratory team to ensure all staff participating in the Physiotherapy on-call rota are trained and competent to deliver the service. As well as the respiratory on-call rota, the therapy department runs a seven day working rota.
We can offer you training opportunities to develop your specialist skills in line with your PDR. We have senior leadership training opportunities on a regular basis as well courses funded externally.
