Full Job Description

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing excellence in clinical care for Teenagers and Young Adults (aged 16 -- 24) with cancer and their families., Based on the Teenage Cancer Trust Young Persons Unit, you will play a key role in providing quality TYA patient care in line with Peer review measures. Working across the hospital and site specific teams and with the existing TYA CNS team, you will support delivery of age appropriate care, whilst also promoting the philosophy and ethos of Teenage Cancer Trust, in line with the charities strategic vision for Nursing.

The post holder will be required to work autonomously and exercise a high level of clinical expertise when identifying and caring for the specific needs of TYA patients and their carers. You will need excellent interpersonal skills, TYA nursing experience, knowledge of TYA cancers and the ability to work sensitively and collaboratively with diverse teams. By working alongside the TYA team and Site Specific Teams you will promote a cohesive approach to TYA care.

You will be supported by the West Midlands Teenage Cancer Trust Lead Nurse, the TYA MDT based at QEHB and the wider regional Band 7 Nurses.

Teenage Cancer Trust will support your professional development, including attendance at the national Teenage Cancer Trust Nurses professional Forum and educational opportunities will be provided.
