Full Job Description

We are seeking a qualified management accountant to take responsibility for the business and financial management of the unit, including the financial liaison with the partner, limited-by-guarantee companies, QED Haematology and QED Transfusion and their accountants.

The post is an NHS appointment and works with, but is not part of, the Trust's Finance Department. The post holder will report to the Unit Director.

The unit comprises approximately 30 people, with seven in the Administration team, as well as IT, logistics and scientific staff.

This is a full-time position, with standard office hours, but we will consider flexible working arrangements.

Croxley Business Park has regular lunchtime activities, an on-site gym, childcare facilities and a free shuttle bus from the local stations., The primary duties and responsibilities of this post are to provide business management to the UK NEQAS Unit and the partner QED companies in all regular and ad hoc financial management and planning activities.

You will demonstrate team leadership skills, with the planning and organisational ability to manage multiple work streams.

You will have good communication skills, enjoy exchanging ideas and influencing policy and must be self-motivated, able to adapt to changing priorities and willing to implement change.

With a new hospital planned for Watford and work underway to update theatres at St Albans City Hospital, this is an exciting time to join us.
