Full Job Description

The post holder will be accountable for leading on all aspects of quality management related to nursing practice within the multi-speciality, predominately nurse-led ambulatory day care service.

They will provide a visible presence with strong professional, clinical, and managerial leadership to develop nursing at a strategic and operational level within the service, ensuring that nursing care is delivered to a high standard and that the nursing resource is managed effectively. The post holder will provide specialist knowledge, support, and advice on ambulatory day care to patients, carers, and across the service as a whole.

Working closely with the Senior Matron, Clinical Leads, Clinical Nurse Specialists, Operational and Service Managers and wider team, the post holder will help drive and shape the service as it evolves to meet the demands of commissioners and the local community, whilst supporting continued development of advanced nursing practice within the service. The post holder will contribute to the on-going implementation of the trust strategy and also the nursing and midwifery strategy, in close liaison with Senior Matron and the Head of Nursing., The post holder will also undertake the key functions of the lead nurse role ensuring the attainment and monitoring of quality and clinical performance indicators and ensuring that any aspect of Directorate service delivery is underpinned by the patient and service user experience. The post holder will play an important role in the development of services as we look to expand into new services to support the growth in ambulatory care demand.

The post holder will support the implementation and maintenance of effective governance arrangements whilst ensuring that nursing care is of the highest possible standard at all times with particular emphasis on dignity, respect and compassion.
