Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen as a direct result of large scale Strengthening Operational Structures transformation programme recently undertaken throughout the Trust, for a dynamic and innovative Registered Allied Health Professional or Nurse with experience of working in Learning Disability Services to fill a matron post, and who will help to influence and shape this multi-professional role.

This Modern Matron post will support the provision of high quality, compassionate and responsive leadership, ensuring robust arrangements are in place to support evidence based, and high-quality clinical service delivery to service users within our community.

This will involve Quality Improvement, development of integrated pathways both within the trust and across the system, governance (including complaints, investigations and proactive risk management) and be confident in promoting good practice and good relationships within multi-professional/agency working.

Due to the strong commitment to evidence-based practice throughout the Trust, CPD will be well-supported, and involvement in audit, research and policy development is encouraged and facilitated.

The post holder will oversee the clinical effectiveness of the service(s) overseeing the Service(s) response to Complaints, Patient Experience and Staff Survey feedback. This information will be used by the post holder, in parallel with Incident, Safety, Safeguarding, ECI, clinical harms and the outcomes from clinical forum, to ensure the service delivers high quality and effective care.

The post holder will work in liaison with the Service Manager in rota management (including safe staffing), the delivery of activity against agreed activity plans, managing overall caseload and waiting time performance for service(s) listed in Appendix 1. The postholder will support on Cost Improvement Schemes for their respective areas, as well as ensuring service delivery is maintained within the set budget for respective Service(s) providing clinical expertise and leadership when delivering these. Where required the post holder will support to the development of business cases and continued transformation/improvement of service(s). The post holder will lead on the recruitment and retention of the clinical workforce across the respective services.
