Thepostholderwillberesponsiblefor: Be responsible for the delivery and development of the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Physiotherapy Services within Central London Community Health Care Trust (CLCH). Key Working Relationships Internal · To consistently communicate effectively with patients and carers/ family via clear verbal non-verbal and written means to maximise rehabilitation potential. Use communication skills of negotiation, motivation explanation and reassurance and working with interpreters when required. · Demonstrate compassion, empathy and sensitivity whilst providing an appropriate level of care according to the needs of the patient. · Working with other members of the team including junior and senior members of staff. External (if applicable) · Regularly liaise with local GP's and other Health Professionals in relation to patient care and/or health promotion. To provide comprehensive discharge reports and clinical reports in a timely manner to referrers (such as GP) and patients and other relevant multi-disciplinary team members · To actively demonstrate leadership qualities in the support of peers and guidance of less experienced staff within clinical requirements. · To prioritise work; balancing patient related and professional demands and ensuring that they remain in accordance with the guidelines of the section as a whole. · Attend appropriate meetings as required. · To be responsible for ensuring effective and efficient use of time with patients and for administrative duties. · To attend monthly Physiotherapy In-service Training and to participate in offering specialised training to the Physiotherapy Service when required. · To attend Statutory and Mandatory Training as required by the Trust Are you looking to join London's largest NHS Trust dedicated to community healthcare? You'll be able to work across the Trust as well., · Be professional and legally responsible and accountable for all aspects of your own work including the management of patients in your care. Ensure a consistently high level of clinical care for the patients under your management and support your peers to do likewise. · Provide an equal and equitable service for all patients, including the harder to reach population groups. · Undertake a comprehensive assessment of patients, using investigative and analytical skills. Be aware of your professional limitations, seeking support as necessary through supervision, discussion with peers/more senior colleagues and team case discussions. · Use a variety of assessment and treatment techniques appropriate to the patient, in accordance with evidence-based practice, national guidelines and trust and departmental policy (including manual handling and confidentiality). · Demonstrate compassion, empathy and sensitivity whilst providing an appropriate level of care for patients with acute and chronic, complex presentations (which may include victims of torture, mental health patients, etc.). · Triage referrals to ensure every patient is appropriate to the Musculoskeletal Outpatient Service in accordance with the triage guidelines.
