Full Job Description

Carry out a range of technical processes within the department, as directed by other BMS staff to a high standard, strictly adhering to departmental procedures.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated HCPC registered Band 5 Biomedical Scientist who has experience in working in a routine histopathology laboratory. Working as part of a team, you will possess excellent organisational and communication skills. You must be flexible in your approach to working and able to work well on your own initiative.

The Department of Cellular Pathology (BWH Site) provides specialist gynaecological pathology services to the Birmingham Women's and Children's Hospital NHSF Trust, which is a Cancer Unit, and to the Regional Gynaecological Cancer Centre at City Hospital, which is part of the Pan-Birmingham Cancer Network. The Department also provides Perinatal Pathology and Placental Pathology services to BWH and other hospitals in the region and beyond., Birmingham Women's and Children's NHS Foundation Trust is the first of its type in the UK.
