Full Job Description

  • To work as part of the IFM Catering Teams for the provision of a patient and staff meal producing freshly cooked food in one of our production kitchens., During the pandemic response we have led the implementation of public vaccination centres in collaboration with partners across health and social care.
  • We take the health, safety and well-being of our colleagues very seriously and all of our staff are fully trained and provided with the correct uniform and PPE to ensure they can undertake their tasks in a safe and effective manner at all times.

  • Applicants will have previous experience of working in a busy kitchen, must be motivated and committed to providing a high quality service and be able to work as part of a team or on their own initiative.
  • Knowledge of special and modified diets IDDSI and/or experience of working in a healthcare setting would be an advantage. .Understand statutory requirements on food hygiene, allergens, storage and temperature control and an excellent knowledge of food hygiene and food preparation are essential.
  • Successful candidates must be qualified to City & Guilds 7061/2 or NVQ Levels 1 & 2 and Level 2 Food Safety Certificate.
  • Basic numeracy and literacy skills are also required.

We employ around 4,200 substantive staff, caring for patients in 11 community hospitals and more than 30 health centres, as well as in clinics, GP practices, schools, care homes and, increasingly, in people's own homes and via virtual consultations.
