Full Job Description

The Royal Free NHS Foundation Trust London is looking to recruit bank Emergency Practitioners. Bank work is available at Chase Farm Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) Enfield, Barnet Hospital Urgent Treatment Centre and the Royal Free Hospital.

The Urgent Treatment Centres are forward thinking, dynamic, friendly environments offering a 7 day walk in service for both adults and children with minor injuries and minor illnesses.

As a Practitioner in our UTC, you will have autonomy for patient care but be part of an innovative expert multi-disciplinary team comprising of nurses, paramedics, EDAs and GPs. You will work in a fast-paced environment with a broad variety of patient presentations and at times dealing with emergency and unexpected situations.

You will be providing emergency care to our local state of the art and pioneering (UTC's). The service you provide is critical to see, diagnose, treat, discharge, or refer both walk-in and ambulatory patients whose injuries or illnesses are not so serious as to need full emergency department care. You will see a wide assortment of presentations and provide professional advice to patients, carers, and colleagues; this means you will consult patients independently but seek clinical advice and support where or if required., World Class Care ValuesThe post holder will offer World Class Care to service users, staff, colleagues, clients and patients alike.

As an independent practitioner with primary care experience and specialistknowledge in minor illness and injury,the post holder will be expected to:

o Demonstrate as a clinical expert initial patient contact assessment so that patients/people attending the urgent care centre (UCC) may be signposted, treated or referred on as appropriate.o Provide professional and clinical leadership within the team.o Support the role of the Matron in developing and implementing a strategicdevelopment plan for practitioner led services within the department.o Lead on the development and implementation of a programme of clinical auditand research within the departmento Act as a primary resource for education and clinical development within theserviceo Work collaboratively with clinical site manager to ensure correct UCC interdepartmental pathways have been escalated.o Manage and be responsible for the supervision and development of the multidisciplinaryteam consisting of all grades of staff, students, and health care support workers.
