Full Job Description

We are looking to recruit a Facilities Assistant (Domestic) to work in our various trust locations. This includes Birch Hill Hospital, Royal Oldham Hospital and Fairfield General Hospital. Rochdale, Oldham, Bury , Tameside and Stockport
Working hours: This is a bank post therefore, shifts will be ad hoc
Working on the bank you will be offered the opportunity to undertake bookings via our bank portal across the services provided by Pennine Care, as and when there is the requirement for support. These areas include Bury, Heywood, Middleton, Rochdale, Oldham, Tameside and Stockport.
The postholder will be a member of the Trust's Bank Facilities team and will provide a comprehensive cleaning service for Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust (PCFT). The Facilities Assistant (Domestic) will work across the Trust's in-patient and/or community settings as assigned, which may include working on wards, clinics or admin areas., The Facilities Assistant (Domestic) is responsible for general cleaning duties at PCFT. Cleaning duties will be carried out in all areas including clinical, sanitary and administration areas, in accordance with the cleaning schedule, policy, procedures and standards The Facilities Assistant (Domestic) must:
+ Carry out tasks in line with Trust policy, national cleaning standards and local instruction.
+ Ensure that infection control, COSHH and health and safety procedures are always followed, including:
+ Follow the cleaning schedules that have been provided for each area to ensure the areas achieve the required levels of cleanliness at all times.
+ Report any incidents or near misses as per Trust policy.
+ Ensure that cleaning equipment and machinery is stored correctly and left in a clean condition and to report any defects to the supervisor.
+ Dispose of all categories of waste safely and in accordance with Trust guidelines.
+ To undertake any other reasonable duty, which is appropriate to the band, when requested by Senior Staff.
+ To be familiar with and comply with all Trust and departmental policies, procedures.
+ Attend mandatory training and other training as required. This may include training online using a mobile phone or computer.
+ Work as part of the team to ensure cleaning tasks are completed in all areas.
Carry out other reasonable duties as required by the supervisors, All of our new starters, who are appointed to a post which requires a Disclosure Barring Certificate check (DBS), will be recharged for the full cost of the check (DBS checks for volunteers are free of charge).
An enhanced DBS check costs £38 and a standard check costs £18 (plus an administration charge of £3.50). If you are a substantive member of staff, the full amount will be taken from your first month's salary.
If you are a member of staff on our bank, you will need to repay the full amount from your first salary.
We encourage you to register with the DBS update service at an annual cost of £13 (this is mandatory for bank staff).
