Full Job Description

The Post Graduate Education Department is responsible for the delivery and quality control of medical/clinical education within the Trust and community to meet statutory requirements and improve the standards of patient care through training.
The role supports the provision of teaching and meeting room facilities by managing and providing a catering service to conference rooms and the dining room., Prepare, cook, present, and serve nutritious and appetising meals for staff and visitors to the centre
Submit orders for provisions (to include sandwiches/paninis etc and non-food items) to suppliers to ensure timely arrival to deliver the catering service. Checking of deliveries and signing/authorising delivery notes/invoices
Use quarterly footfall data to aid provisions ordering and menu planning
Maintain provisions and stock waste sheets to ensure that all kitchen stock is accounted for
Maintain records for sandwich orders and sales
Manage the delegated budget on a day to day basis referring to the Deputy Medical Education Manager as Line Manager and budget holder
Undertake the operational management of all kitchen equipment ensuring it is fit for purpose and in working order. A record of all equipment (crockery, cutlery, cooking equipment, cold storage equipment, etc) is to be maintained
Responsible for customer service requirements ensuring positive customer relations are maintained
Manage electronic till and EPOS system
Liaise with the Centre Administrator regarding room bookings and hospitality requirements and supervise the hospitality provision (trolley delivery/recovery, buffets, academic half day refreshments etc)
Maintaining records in collaboration with the Centre Finance Administrator detailing income/outgoings, sales information, analysing these for service improvement and cost reductions
Ensure mandatory and statutory record keeping is maintained, i.e. temperature (hot and cold) monitoring, Health & Safety Assessments, opening/closing routine. These records must be held and maintained for EHO inspection
Allergy information for all meals/hospitality is provided and records captured on a weekly basis
Manage staff in line with Trust Policies and procedures
Ensure team members are trained to conduct their duties

Catering support is provided to out of hours centre activity, as required
