Full Job Description

Join the Northumberland Communities Together team as a Bank Hub Assistant to support the delivery of Catering and Event Services in our Community Hubs. We have exciting opportunities available in Alnwick, Cramlington, Haltwhistle, and Newbiggin by The Sea.,

  • Completing room setups.

  • Providing event support.

  • Serving food and drinks to customers in a bar and cafe setup.

  • Performing cleaning duties as required.

  • Sorting deliveries.

  • Washing pots and dishes.

  • Opening and closing the building.

  • Handling cash using an electronic till system., Northumberland County Council's Staff Bank provides a pool of highly skilled temporary workers who are looking for a long-term placement, or who want to work flexibly within the council. If a team needs support due to sickness, common staff shortages, or general vacancies, they call upon registered bank members to fill available assignments. These can be filled via a long-term assignment for up to 12 months or on an ad hoc basis.

    The Staff Bank is managed by the Temporary Staffing Team, who you can contact via temporarystaffing@northumberland.gov.uk. You will be subject to Northumberland County Council's pre-employment checking process which includes a minimum of 2 references covering the past 3 years, health clearance and proof of right to work in the UK and depending on the assignment you may be required to undertake a DBS check.

  • Working knowledge of event and catering environments.

  • Familiarity with HACCP, food safety, and health and safety principles.
