Bank Level 6 Prison Nurse

You do not need to have had any previous prison experience however we would especially welcome applicants who have the following skill set: competent in dispensing of medication, wound dressings including compression bandaging, phlebotomy, imms & vacs trained. Varied nursing experience in a challenging but fulfilling area. We would require applicants to have been qualified with relevant experience, as much of the care is nurse-led and encourages decision making. The department is well supported by a team of GPs and Allied Health Professionals. They are constantly striving to improve the standard of care delivery to prisoners and to make innovative changes, which will further enhance the service.
We will not accept applications from unqualified or Student Nurses for this position., BCHC provide high quality community and specialist services within Birmingham and the West Midlands. We deliver over 100 clinical services, out in people's homes and in over 200 healthcare settings for adults, children, people with learning disabilities, those with rehabilitation needs and also dental services. The Trust provides primary care & inpatient services in HMP Birmingham which is a male prison that can house up to 1450 prisoners.
