Full Job Description
We are looking for enthusiastic and motivated midwives to join our Trust. You will join a committed and experienced team of midwives who work closely with the wider multi-disciplinary team. Maidstone & Tunbridge Wells NHS Trust delivers maternity care to over 5900 women per year which includes two beautiful stand-alone birth centres. We are lucky to host individual rooms in each of our inpatient areas which attracts birthing persons from the local area and further. You will have the opportunity to book shifts in all of our acute clinical areas including Maternity Triage, Antenatal Ward, Delivery Suite and Postnatal Ward. Main duties of the job We are proud of our excellent facilities which offer women real choice in place of birth. We achieve 1 : 1 care for all women choosing to birth with us, in every birth setting - Home Birth, Midwifery Led and Obstetric Led. We have been nominated several times for RCM awards and are internationally recognised for our research and practises into 'Kangaroo Care', for the promotion of well-being in transitional care babies. - RM and eligible to practice.
- Evidence of further study and development of professional and academic skills. Desirable criteria
- To have obtained or be studying at diploma level. Experience / Knowledge Essential criteria
- Sound knowledge of recent Government / Professional documents with awareness of implications to service provision.
- Able to demonstrate motivation to maintain professional development.
- Ability to work within acute and primary health care settings. Desirable criteria
- Previous community and hospital experience.
- Ability to use flexible innovative approaches to practice individualised care
- Knowledge of change management theories and their impact. Skills Essential criteria
- Excellent interpersonal skills.

- Act as mentor to both qualified midwives and students encouraging evidence based practice.
- Ability to exercise professional accountability and autonomy.
- Ability to act effectively within a multidisciplinary team. Ensuring collaboration across professional boundaries.
- Able to recognise own limitations in order to seek advice appropriately.

- Be able to prioritise one's workload.
- A working knowledge of quality assurance.
