Full Job Description

We are recruiting for a Bank Portering Staff who wishes to join #TeamIOWNHS. You should share our passion and drive to ensure that our patients receive quality and compassionate care and work with us to ensure the Trust continues its journey towards "great people, great place"., Pathology Duties

  • Collection of specimens from wards/departments to a determined time, plus return of same if specimen not labelled correctly etc. as requested.
  • Delivery of liquid nitrogen to wards and departments as requested.
  • Checking, signing out and collection of units of blood and blood products from
  • Blood Bank to wards using the personalised computerised bar code system.
  • Using blood cool boxes as required, returning unused units to the blood fridge and recorded as requested if within designated time frames for blood to be out of fridge. Ensure matches are made with Patient name /Isle of Wight number and ensure that a signature is received from a senior member on nursing staff on receipt of blood at ward
