Full Job Description

We are looking for a diligent and proactive Bank Reconciliation Assistant to join our dynamic team. This hybrid role offers the flexibility of working from home with the requirement to be in our Cardiff office once a week. As a Bank Reconciliation Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the effective operation and control of our core bank reconciliation process. Your responsibilities will include ensuring the effective operation and control of the core bank reconciliation process, investigating and resolving the root causes of unreconciled items, proactively resolving problems and queries, and providing a high standard of internal and external customer service. Main Duties

  • Review daily BACS payment supplier runs.
  • Complete the daily reconciliation of the Premium Trust bank accounts.
  • Balance cashbook, general ledger and bank statement daily.
  • Monitor, investigate and escalate payment discrepancies.
  • Liaise with the Management Accounts team to support the month end accounting process.
  • Provide high standards of external customer service by responding quickly to correspondence and requests.
  • Build effective relationships both internally within Finance and externally to our wider stakeholders.
  • Meet individual and department targets and objectives.

    Previous Bank Reconciliation experience is favourable but not essential.
  • Attention to detail.
  • Good understanding and working knowledge of Excel.
  • Strong organisation skills - Ability to process high work volumes and maintain high accuracy is essential.
  • "Can do attitude" - Enthusiastic, motivated, and able to work with initiative.
  • Excellent team player.
  • Confident communication with internal and external stakeholders.
