Full Job Description

Be an experienced and autonomous practitioner who leads by example and acts as a role model, providing clinical and professional perfusion services to the multi-disciplinary team.As a Senior Clinical Perfusionist the post-holder will encouraged to represent the Trust at external meetings which will include European and worldwide cardiothoracic symposia. As part of this function he/she will be responsible for collating and analysing a range of highly complex data related to TEG analysis, patient risk factors and their impact on intra-operative and post-operative patient outcomes.The post holder will be responsible for setting and maintaining 24 hour perfusion service provision and participate fully in the development of the team and service, recognising that the team will contain those that have professional managerial responsibilities, novice practitioners and student perfusionists.Fundamentally the post holder will work with the Head of Clinical Perfusion to ensure that the perfusion
resource is sufficient for those perfusionists with professional managerial responsibilities to hit the clinical group's contractual and professional targets

Main duties of the job

Communication Comply with the Directorate management structure and communicate effectively within this framework.

Offer expert advice to medical staff on the suitability of equipment and devices for specific procedures, taking into account changes/deterioration in patient condition and any concomitant disease processes, laboratory data, near patient test results and other technically limiting factors. Implementation of innovative techniques must be introduced by tactful, clear and concise explanations.
