Full Job Description

Simon has Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy, communication difficulties and is wheelchair dependent. Your role will be to support Simon throughout the night and get him ready for school in the morning. You'll be required to carry out personal care tasks, assisting with transfers, support in all aspects of care including therapy and to assist him in the local community. Two carers are required for each shift to manage his moving and handling needs and monitor his epilepsy. Daytime shifts will consist of supporting his care, therapy, social, emotional and communication needs., Our Case Managers work closely with our Clients, and we carry out all the recruitment processes on behalf of our Clients; and will support you, from your initial telephone interview right through to arranging employer interviews, trial shifts and placement. If you are successfully recruited, you will be employed directly by our client or their Deputy appointed by the Court of Protection. However, ILS will manage your day to day employment, providing you with the support you need to carry out your role. Working as a Carer or Support Worker for an ILS client means that you will have a dedicated Case Manager to oversee your client's care needs.

Preferable Experience: Experience of complex medical needs, and supporting a child through waking nights (awake all night), Manual Handling Desirable: Experience working with children with complex medical and physical needs and an interest in therapy, This is an excellent opportunity for a dynamic and motivated person to join a dedicated home care team and develop existing skills and support this very special young man.   • Must be able to work with specialist equipment (training will be provided). A Handling Management Plan is available and is designed to reduce the risk of handling injuries, but you may be required to bend, kneel, squat, push or pull.

    Days & Hours: Variety of hours available to include Waking night shifts (awake for duration) Monday to Sunday 8.30pm-8.30am. Weekends 10.00am-6.00pm and daytime shifts during the school holidays Pay: Pay Rate 1: £15.23, Monday to Friday days Pay Rate 2: £16.28, Saturday and Sunday days and Bank Holiday days. Pay Rate 3: £15.75, Monday to Friday nights. Pay Rate 4: £16.80, Saturday and Sunday days and Bank Holiday nights, £15.23-£16.80 dependent on shift On-going training & support provided 5.6 weeks annual leave pro rata Free DBS check.
