Full Job Description

The Ned and Ned's Club are a global collection of hotels, clubs, spas, and restaurants for like-minded individuals to meet, work and have a good time. The Ned City of London launched in 2017, in the former Midland Bank headquarters. Our Grade 1 listed building now houses Ned's Club - a private members' space, gym and rooftop - alongside a public spa, a whole floor of event spaces, ten restaurants and bars and 250 hotel bedrooms. Reporting into the Head of Bars and working alongside the restaurant operations team you will:

  • Lead your team to prepare and serve up perfectly made drinks from our range of menus
  • Own all people leadership tasks - including team recruitment, development and performance chats, onboarding new starters
  • On our guest service bars your team will be the friendly face providing exceptional experiences, along with recommendations and suggested drinks
  • On our service bars your team will speedily prepare the orders as they come in, keeping our waiters and runners stocked with the drinks they need to deliver a seamless experience to our guests
  • All of our bars are in full view of the guests, so you will oversee a tidy, presentable, and slick operation that enhances the guests experience
  • As the leader of the bar, you will be the guardian of outstanding hospitality and drinks quality within your team, modelling behaviours, monitoring standards, and providing coaching and feedback where needed
  • Maintain a safe and clean bar environment, protecting our guests and your teammates from any possible harm

Previous bar supervisory or leadership experience with a proven track record of delivering outstanding drinks, service, and people management
  • Our customers and guests expect the best, so high standards are essential
  • A commercial mindset is needed in all our leaders. As bar manager you will take overall accountability for delivering excellent financial performance and results
  • You'll have great all-round drinks knowledge, and ideally experience with cocktails and/or wines
  • A creative flair is always welcome - we host regular cocktail competitions with our winning drinks being added to the menus
  • If you have the desire to learn and progress then you can take part including the option to gain a Wine and Spirit Education Trust (WSET) qualification, and extensive bar training as part of our monthly learning calendar
