Full Job Description

The Bariatric Administrator will become part of a Multi-Disciplinary Team(MDT) which includes surgeons, dietitians, nurses, eating disorders specialists, a metabolic physician and administrative staff.

The main purpose of this role is to provide clerical and administrative support to the bariatric surgery team. The post holder will manage the Bariatric surgery worklist and act as a point of contact for patient queries.

  • The pathway for bariatric patients is complicated, requiring input across a multi-disciplinary team, across directorates and other organisations. Therefore the post holder will be required to ensure that at all times there is excellent communication across organisational boundaries.

  • Deal with telephone and email queries including those sent to the departmental email address, recording and passing messages to the relevant team members and following up where necessary to ensure action has been taken

  • Update key monitoring spreadsheets, escalating any issues arising from this activity

  • Assist with other administrative and clerical duties as directed by the team
