Full Job Description
- Plan, organise, and conduct basketball training sessions for children (ages 5 and up) and adults.
- Teach fundamental basketball skills including dribbling, shooting, passing, and defensive strategies.
- Develop age-appropriate drills and exercises to improve skill levels and understanding of the game.
- Promote teamwork, sportsmanship, and positive attitudes on and off the court.
- Provide constructive feedback and individual attention to each player.
- Foster a fun, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for all participants.
- Ensure the safety and well-being of all players during practice and games.
- Organise and lead competitive games or scrimmages to apply learned skills in a game setting.
- Communicate effectively with parents/guardians about their child's progress and any team updates.
- Adapt coaching methods to accommodate different age groups and skill levels.
- Monitor player development and adjust training programs accordingly.
- Ensure proper maintenance and storage of basketball equipment and facilities.
- Stay current with basketball coaching techniques, rules, and industry standards., As a Basketball Coach, you will play a vital role in fostering a love for the game while helping players of all ages, from young children to adults, develop their basketball skills. Your role will include planning and leading training sessions, ensuring a positive and supportive environment, and promoting sportsmanship and teamwork. You will have the opportunity to make a lasting impact on your players' growth, both athletically and personally, through your passion, patience, and expertise.
Coaching certification or relevant credentials (required). - Prior experience in basketball coaching, particularly with children and youth.
- Strong understanding of basketball fundamentals and strategies.
- Patience and enthusiasm for working with children and beginners.
- Excellent communication and leadership skills.
- Ability to motivate and inspire players of all ages and abilities.
- CPR and First Aid certification (preferred but not required).
