Behaviour Learning Support Assistant needed in Greenwich
About The School:
Specialist SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) school providing supportive education for students with complex needs, including Autism and challenging behaviors. The small, inclusive provision focuses on empowering students to overcome difficulties and achieve their potential., The School is seeking an experienced Behaviour Learning Support Assistant to join their dedicated team. The successful candidate will provide individualized support to students with SEMH needs, Autism, and challenging behaviors, ensuring a safe and inclusive learning environment.
Key Responsibilities of a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant:
- Provide 1:1 and group support to students with SEMH needs, Autism, and challenging behaviors.
- Manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors, utilizing trauma-informed approaches.
- Collaborate with the Head of Engage to develop and implement behavioral support strategies.
- Maintain a calm and composed demeanor in challenging situations.
- Liaise with the Head of Engage before responding to behaviors, considering potential triggers.
- Foster positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
Requirements of a Behaviour Learning Support Assistant:
- Experience working with students with SEMH needs, Autism, and challenging behaviors.
- Proven ability to manage and de-escalate challenging behaviors.
- Trauma-informed approach training (desirable).
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
