Full Job Description

This role sits within the UK Benefits team and operates as part of the broader Reward team (with Compensation and Pensions). As a Benefits Manager you will be responsible for the development, implementation and communication of colleague benefits and wellbeing services throughout the UK firm. What will you be doing? The purpose of this role is to work as part of the Centre of Expertise team to develop, implement and communicate a portfolio of core, flexible and voluntary benefits and wellbeing services that are aligned to the firm's total reward offering. The role-holder will lead projects in relation to benefits, making sure all services meet strategic objectives. The role entails working closely on internal communication, designing the launch and operational delivery of new or revised benefits.

  • Development, implementation and delivery of a range of core, flexible, and voluntary benefits and provision of our wellbeing services including provider liaison, agreeing contractual terms, setting & monitoring service levels, building relationships, driving innovation, and managing costs for the business
  • Managing the account relationship with external benefits and wellbeing suppliers, to ensure service excellence and continued improvements through effective supplier relationship management
  • Responsibility for the strategic direction of our flexible benefit programme and delivery of annual renewal activities
  • Leading market tenders working with numerous multi-disciplinary stakeholders, taking full accountability to manage multiple projects at the same time
  • Working with SMEs to ensure our benefits comply with relevant tax and legal regulations, both in relation to core benefits and those under our flexible benefits package to ensure that our provisions remain compliant with HMRC legislation
  • Developing proposals for changes to our benefits approach in support of our business strategy
  • Working with our communications team to design and deliver engaging firm-wide communications
  • Lead on the IT Risk and Security reviews and implementation for third party supplier contracts
  • Ad hoc firm-wide or capability specific projects often requiring working to tight deadlines
  • Managing the content of the Benefit portal pages to ensure information is always current
  • Managing budget for specific benefits and invoicing requirements
  • Deputising for the Head of Benefits as required, We are open to talk to talent across the country but our core Central Service hub for this role is Watford.

  • Highly experienced in managing employee benefits and running flexible benefit programmes with knowledge of the UK tax and legal environment for employee benefits and a wider appreciation of the UK reward landscape and market practice is essential
  • Proven experience of managing third party providers and leading market tenders (supported by procurement) to broker existing and new services
  • Strong project management skills and proven ability to deliver and take full accountability for large scale projects on time, to tight deadlines and limited resources
  • An ability to manage budgets and a commercial approach to assessing and developing proposals for change
  • Adaptable to change and able to/willing to learn new skills and develop expertise
  • Capable of forming effective working relationships with other HR colleagues and other internal teams, such as Procurement, Internal Communications, People Advisory Services, Employment Law Advisory Team, Tax, Partnership Office and Risk & Compliance
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills; capable of delivering a comprehensive communication plan; ability to articulate complex arguments credibly to senior stakeholders and to provide clear recommendations for consideration
  • Has numeracy, literacy and analytical ability to be able to understand and interpret data, solve complex problems and good attention to detail
  • Confident presenter- experience of presenting both internally and externally to wide audiences would be preferred
  • Ability to use initiative and judgement, with proven experience of managing risk
  • Experience managing emotional and sensitive employee situations such as critical incidents, and be able to deliver difficult messages
