Full Job Description

We are seeking to recruit an experienced Bereavement lead Midwife who will lead and work within the team, to deliver personalised care to bereaved women and their families. You will be dynamic, sensitive and forward thinking in the bereavement arena of maternity care.

You should have sound knowledge of the National bereavement pathway and be prepared to engage with bereaved families, undertaking clinical working and teaching as required.

This is part time role for 22.5 hours per week.

· Act as a clinical specialist providing verbal and written information to bereaved families.

· Enabling the bereaved to access their entitlements by liaising with outside agencies.

· Being a resource for medical, nursing and midwifery staff on physical, psychological and administrative aspects of bereavement care.

· Support and teach staff in formal and informal settings on all aspects of pregnancy associated bereavement care.

· Being aware of research and best practice in bereavement and identifying through audit and other means, areas for improvement in bereavement care.

· The role will require organisational, management and leadership skills. The post holder will provide specialist advice facilitating the development of others.
