Full Job Description

An opportunity has arisen to join our Bereavement team based at St Richards Hospital with flexibility to work in our Worthing Hospital office as required. The post holder will require excellent customer service, communication and organisational skills with the ability to manage a variety of tasks throughout the working day. The work involves dealing with people at an extremely difficult time in their lives and you must be able to complete the necessary tasks whilst acting in a caring and compassionate way. The post holder must be able to work effectively within a team and autonomously., To co-ordinate the day to day functioning of the bereavement service, ensuring prompt and correct documentation relating to the death of a patient within the trust.

The post holder's key working relationships will be with:

Internal:

  • Patients and families

  • Medical Examiners and Medical Examiner Officer

  • Mortuary services

  • Wider patient experience teams

  • Clinical divisions

  • Reception and other patient facing teams on site


  • External:
  • Coroner's office

  • Funeral directors

  • Registrars
