Full Job Description

Reporting to the Group Bid Manager (GBM), the Senior Bid Manager will play a crucial role in leading and managing the end-to-end bid process., The responsibilities will include coordinating cross-functional teams e.g. the subject matter experts (SMEs) from Frankham Group's Business Units (BUs) developing compelling proposals and ensuring the successful delivery of bids to clients.

Supporting the Group Bid Manager and mentoring members of the bid team.,

  • Bid Strategy Development: Formulate comprehensive bid strategies aligned with Frankham Group's goals and client requirements.

  • Market research: conduct thorough and competitor analysis to identify key differentiators.

  • Bid Planning and Coordination: Lead the bid planning process, collaborating with internal stakeholders including sales, marketing, finance, and technical teams. Establish clear timelines, milestones, and deliverables to ensure timely submission of bids.

  • Developing: innovation, assumption, win theme and value proposition registers.

  • Proposal Development: Oversee the creation of high-quality, client-focused proposals that effectively address client needs and showcase Frankham's strengths.

  • Coordinate content: creation, review, and editing processes to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance with bid requirements.

  • Risk Management: Identify potential risks and challenges associated with bids and develop mitigation strategies to minimise their impact. Conduct thorough risk assessments and provide recommendations to senior management.

  • Client Relationship Management: Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, understanding their needs and preferences to tailor proposals accordingly.

  • Act as: a primary point of contact for client inquiries and facilitate communication throughout the bid process.

  • Team Leadership and Development: Provide guidance, support, and mentorship to junior members of the bid team. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that encourages innovation and continuous improvement.

  • Performance Analysis and Reporting: Track bid outcomes, analyse success rates, and identify areas for improvement. Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior management, highlighting key metrics, lessons learned, and actionable insights.

  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure compliance with internal policies, industry regulations, and client requirements throughout the bid lifecycle. Maintain accurate documentation and records related to bid activities.

  • Process: help develop, maintain and improve bid processes and flows that contribute to the Frankham Group Work Winning Playbook.

  • Liaise: with Frankham's marketing and Business Development teams to ensure cross functional development of content e.g. case studies and CVs.

  • Maintain: CRM assigned responsibilities through Deltek.

  • Social Values (SV): assist Frankham's SV Champion in developing company approach.

  • Assist: in managing the Frankham Group Bid Library.

    Bachelor's degree in business administration, marketing, or a related field.

  • Or proven experience in bid management, with a minimum of 10-years in a senior leadership role.

  • Strong project management skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks, manage deadlines, and lead cross-functional teams effectively.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex ideas and concepts clearly and persuasively.

  • In-depth knowledge of bidding processes, procurement methodologies, and contract negotiations.

  • Strategic, analytical, and methodical thinker.

  • Mature understanding of market dynamics and client needs.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and bid management software.

  • Skilled writer and editor.

  • Able to structure, edit/review and write technical and non-technical content to answer EOI, SSQ, ITT, RFQ, RFI and Framework / DSP bids.

  • In-depth knowledge of Private Sector bidding processes.

  • In-depth knowledge of Public Sector bidding processes e.g. PCR 2105 and the Transformation and new process due in October 2024.

  • Professional certifications such as APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) or similar are desirable.
