Full Job Description

As part of Raytheon UK's Capture Management Excellence team the Bid and Proposal Manager is responsible for managing the delivery of technically complex proposals to help meet our growth objectives. This role requires a driven and organised individual who can work collaboratively with multiple functions to deliver holistic proposals that exceed our customer's demands and meet our internal governance. This role is based at our Harlow office with options for Hybrid working.,

  • Leading cross functional teams to deliver winning bids on time and on budget to exceed our customer's expectations.
  • Project managing the bid process from requests for information through to contract award to ensure internal and client deadlines are consistently met
  • Build close relationships with Capture Leads to add value to our bidding by placing the customer at the centre of our approach.
  • Work collaboratively with other functions to coordinate inputs to create coherent value adding bids delivered on time.
  • Ownership of, adherence to and contribution to the ongoing development of an effective bid process meeting internal milestones and governance
  • Constructively use lessons learnt to continual improvement in our bidding process
  • Mentor other team members to help drive best practice across our Bid Management team
  • Drive best practice in bidding across the company

    Essential:
  • APMP Bid Foundation Certification or similar
  • Relevant educational and technical background
  • Proven experience working experience in a technology-based industry
  • Proven experience within similar role or able to demonstrate transferable experience
  • Excellent written communication skills including technical writing
  • Highly attentive to details to include establishing milestones, dependencies and risk mitigation plans
  • Self starter and ability to multi-task in a dynamic environment
  • Advanced verbal and written communications skills (technical fluency in English required)
  • Strong people skills / demonstrated interpersonal skills
  • Demonstrated performance providing a high-level of customer service and communications
  • Desirable:
  • APMP Bid Practitioner Certification
  • Defence, Cyber or Aerospace industry experience
  • Proven record of delivery of complex bids related to Defence and Aerospace programmes
  • Relevant experience in Raytheon UK's market areas.
  • Experience of Shipley Bidding practices
  • Experience working with and managing defence or government customers
  • Leadership experience in multi-functional teams
  • SC Clearance
