Full Job Description

Helping to win profitable work for the GRAHAM business, the Bid Manager will play a lead role in the production of a diverse range of high-quality submissions to our clients throughout the UK and Ireland. We're looking for someone with experience to deliver high-quality, competitive submissions to our clients. The successful Bid Manager will be comfortable and capable in leading and co-ordinating in-house staff from our SHEQ; Planning; Design Management; Commercial and HR Departments; as well as our external design consultants and supply chain partners. The Bid Manager will be the key interface between the Client and GRAHAM. The candidate will be a skilful team player, with knowledge of Civil Engineering practices and will be well organised to ensure delivery within stringent deadlines. The Bid Manager shall:

  • Agree Bid targets, in terms of quality, programme and cost
  • Report on the progress of each tender opportunity regularly throughout the tender period
  • Liaise with other GRAHAM staff, design teams and supply chain.
  • Present for approval, key information including technical responses and commercial strategy
  • Maintain relevant databases including Sharepoint and ensure information is complete.
  • Follow core GRAHAM business systems and policies.
  • Identify and implement ways to continually improve submissions using Debrief information and Lessons learnt.

    Demonstrate a good understanding of the Civil Engineering market
  • Have thorough understanding of construction techniques
  • Understand engineering design principles
  • Comprehensive understanding of the tendering process within the construction industry
  • Strong communication skills both written and oral
  • Extensive experience of Microsoft Office including Word and Excel
  • Access to a car and have a clean driving licence
  • Desirable
  • Educated to Degree level or equivalent
  • Experience in a Bid Management role
  • Experience of delivering Construction projects.
