Full Job Description

You will work with bid management, support staff and engineering teams to develop solutions and craft compelling narratives. We are an international engineering consultancy with an established reputation for delivering complex and innovative design solutions to the global construction industry. We have worked on some iconic projects and this role is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic team that is supporting the growth of the business.About the team: The Business Development group is a dedicated team that provides a varied range of services to a highly professional company. It manages client relationships and helps others to deal with interfaces that successfully grows and maintains our work pipeline. It provides expertise and support to manage and deliver successful tender submissions to clients or other alliance companies. The team develops and delivers all manner of marketing initiatives from publications to events together with the communication that support a fast-paced business. The successful candidate will be required to:

  • Work with the senior proposals manager and business development team to craft winning proposals, leading the development of high-quality written content.
  • Helping to maintain our library of bid resources including model responses for submissions, project case studies and CVs.
  • Write content, including responses to tender questions, executive summaries, case studies, and CVs
  • Edit responses written by Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) across various departments (H&S, environmental and quality management, HR, and finance).
  • Proofread bids, marketing materials and other business documentation
  • Quickly establish effective working relationships within newly formed bid teams
  • Create and maintain templates.
  • Coach colleagues in bid writing best practices
  • Contribute to the development of proposal themes that demonstrate an understanding of the client's needs and how we will add value for them
  • Facilitate content planning/storyboarding workshops to establish the story and structure for each response, ensuring all client requirements are addressed.
  • Ensure adherence to in-house style guidance and processes.
  • Share ideas and contribute to improvement projects to enhance the quality of proposals.

    Previous experience in a similar bid writing role
  • Exceptional writing skills, with the ability to translate technical or corporate language into flowing and readily understood English.
  • Excellent editing and proofreading skills
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • The ability to communicate effectively and persuasively with teams in a diverse range of forums and environments
  • Excellent organisation skills to deal with multiple activities simultaneously.
  • Ability to meet defined deadlines
  • The ability to work collaboratively as part of a business development team in the UK and international regions.
  • To present a positive image internally across the business.
  • To be able to exemplify personal integrity.
  • Excellent knowledge of MS Office and 365
  • Willingness to work flexibly to ensure workload is managed effectively.
  • Willingness to look for better ways of working whilst considering best practice processes., APMP Membership is desirable
  • Experience of using Adobe Creative Suite particularly Indesign
  • Experience of client management systems or other pursuit management systems and processes
