Full Job Description
Caterpillar's Industrial Power Systems Division (IPSD) designs, tests and manufactures 0.5 to 18L Cat® and Perkins engines that power over 5000 applications including Marine, Petroleum, Industrial Applications, Electric Generators, and Locomotives. Caterpillar's company strategy includes sustainability as one of four focus areas and IPSD is engaged and actively preparing green energy solutions for the future., Working within the IPSD - Medium (IPSD-M) Engineering Services team as a Bill of Materials (BoM) Configurator, you will have the opportunity to support both current products and upcoming New Product Introduction (NPI) programs. You will gain experience of working within a global team, as well as collaborating cross-functionally with Product Management, Engineering and Manufacturing teams.
Additional Info :
Hybrid working with minimum 60% (3 days) in the office.
What You Will Do:
- Become a Subject Matter Expert (SME) on BoM configuration with focused attention on routes to market
- Create new IPSD-M engine lists and Aftermarket BoMs to help the wider business deliver against Customer requirements
- Maintain existing IPSD-M engine lists and Aftermarket BoMs via design changes and obsolescence, in-line with Engineering, Product Team and Customer needs
- Create new configured groups to support new product structures
- Actively advocate continuous improvement within BoM Configuration and the wider Engineering Services team, Pending the number of applications, the criteria for the position may be enhanced to facilitate shortlisting. #LI-Hybrid
