Full Job Description

Working within our Digital Engineering department, you will be implementing BIM technology to assist in the construction coordination process. This position will give you the chance to work on some of the top construction projects in the Dorchester and Poole catchment areas. As a BIM Coordinator, you will be working in a fast-paced construction environment, driving exceptional quality and service for water and wastewater projects. Responsibilities and duties include:

  • reviewing 3D models from consultants and contractors
  • managing Point Cloud and other survey information from third-party surveyors
  • conducting clash detection and visual walkthroughs using NavisWorks Manage
  • auditing and reviewing models in Autodesk Revit
  • early design review and constructability analysis
  • managing and updating BIM Project documents
  • 3D model quantity extraction/verification
  • 4D scheduling/simulation using Primavera P6 and Bentley Synchro
  • occasional travel to sites in Poole & Dorchester.

    Are you an Engineer with a degree in Civil, Structural or Mechanical Engineering? If so, and you have strong interpersonal, technical problem-solving and leadership skills, then we have a great opportunity to join us as a BIM Coordinator!, To be successful you will need to be highly organised, detail-oriented, hardworking and have the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • You will possess excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, as well as the ability to communicate effectively with personnel at all organisational levels. We are also looking for:
  • experience working in a common data environment and managing BIM data throughout a project lifecycle
  • an understanding of the key principles of information management as per BS EN ISO 19650
  • experience adapting to design changes and new technologies
  • experience conducting design coordination meetings with project team members
  • the ability to work collaboratively within a multidiscipline and diverse team
  • experience delivering projects using Autodesk products, such as AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks, ReCap or similar Bentley products
  • knowledge of construction processes and procedures
  • advanced PC skills, specifically Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint).
