Full Job Description
This is an exciting opportunity for a Biology Technician to join the Faculty of Arts and Sciences within the Biology department. You will work alongside a dynamic team of technical staff and support research and teaching in biological sciences, enabling your to further develop your scientific skills and knowledge.
Your main duties and responsibilities will include:
Supporting research ensuring the laboratories are well stocked, clean and in a safe operational condition for staff and students.
Preparation of reagents for research and teaching.
Ensure departmental laboratory consumables are stocked and re-ordered.
Maintain, operate, and teach staff and students in the use of scientific equipment.

A Biology Degree or related discipline
Experience of working in the Higher Education Sector laboratory
Experience of servicing and maintaining laboratory equipment
Experience in one or more of the following: plant science, ecology or genetics
Excellent understanding of health and safety standards in a laboratory or field setting
