Full Job Description

We are seeking an enthusiastic, self-motivated HCPC registered Clinical or Biomedical Scientist to join the specialist integrated haematological malignancy diagnostic service (SIHMDS) laboratory within North West London Pathology (NWLP) at Hammersmith Hospital. The laboratory is one of the partner organisations within the North Thames Genomic Laboratory Hub (NTGLH) and is accredited with the NSHCS to provide STP and HSST training, together with a commitment to train and develop staff of all grades., The post holder will support a high quality diagnostic service for a range of molecular investigations in haematological malignancies.

This exciting opportunity in our fully-integrated haemato-oncology laboratory is primarily based in the immunophenotyping section of SIHMDS. Demonstrable experience in immunophenotyping or flow cytometry and an interest in molecular genetics/oncology is essential. The successful applicant will have supervisory responsibilities for the technical staff members and should possess excellent communication, teamwork, supervisory and leadership skills, whilst being able to work autonomously as required. Contribution to compliance with UKAS laboratory accreditation standards, teaching and training is necessary., Applicants must have a first or second Class Honours degree in a biological science or closely related subject. The successful applicant should hold current HCPC registration as a clinical or biomedical scientist with experience in a clinical diagnostic laboratory.
