Woodley Equipment Company Ltd, a market leading supplier of specialist laboratory equipment, diagnostic and critical care products to the veterinary industry worldwide, has an exciting opportunity for a Biomedical Technical Specialist. Working across our medical, veterinary and clinical trial divisions, you will be part of a product specialist and technical support team providing dedicated quality support and training to our staff, customers and distributors both in the UK and overseas. Reporting directly to the Biomedical Technical Manager, the role will ideally suit someone who has relevant previous experience and is looking to join a growing business that can offer job stability and development.,

  • Product specialist for all divisions.
  • Delivering product training in-house and at customer/distributor sites worldwide.
  • Attending technical training sessions with manufacturers worldwide to expand product knowledge.
  • Act as internal point of contact for technical support issues.
  • Resolve technical support issues from UK customers and international distributors by phone and email.
  • Liaise with international suppliers/manufacturers to identity and resolve technical issues.
  • Work closely with Woodley's in-house service department.
  • Research and evaluate new equipment and products for target market suitability.
  • Develop and maintain company training guides and equipment user manuals.
  • Assist the Marketing teams including attending sales exhibitions.
  • Undertake QA preparation of analytical equipment prior to despatch for sale/rental purposes.
  • Assign QC values to unassayed haematology and biochemistry QC material.

    Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Ability to work autonomously and prioritise your own workload.
  • Excellent practical bench laboratory skills.
  • Thorough understanding of Quality Control and Quality Assurance matters.
  • Excellent organisation, presentation and IT skills.
  • Experience of training and technical presentation.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to communicate effectively with colleagues, customers and distributors worldwide.
  • An eye for detail with good numerical ability and strong technical writing skills.
  • THE PERSON You will have a proven understanding of Biomedical Sciences supported by experience in a clinical laboratory or point of care setting. Ideally you will be a HPC Registered Biomedical Scientist. You will have the capacity to learn about current and new products in depth and be able to explain it to people with a non-science/technical background. It is essential that you are capable and confident on computers and able to use MS Office applications and an in-house customer relationship database with excellent attention to detail. You must have the capacity to work with colleagues at all levels, have the ability to work as part of a team and on your own initiative whilst maintaining a team approach. To fulfil this role, you must be prepared for some travel across the UK including overnight stays and occasional overseas travel as required by the needs of the business. QUALIFICATIONS / REGISTRATIONS Essential: BSc or equivalent within a relevant Biomedical / Biological Science. Desirable: HPC Registered Biomedical Scientist.
