Full Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a senior midwife to lead on the continued implementation of the Birth Matters Service at Airedale NHS Foundation Trust., The post holder will act as a role model demonstrating clinical leadership and midwifery expertise and promote exceptional team working. The post holder will lead and facilitate the offer of trauma informed reflective discussions and support women in informed decision making. The post holder will support and enhance women and birthing peoples' experience
through implementing evidence-based care practices and recommendations from the national maternity agenda.
The post holder will support the midwifery management team in responding to complaints and PALS as directed by the Head of Midwifery and Maternity Matrons.
This role will be essential in ensuring communication with the multidisciplinary team is maintained by taking an active role in plans of care and outcome-based evaluation and learning is shared with all staff., · Lead and facilitate facilitate the offer of trauma informed reflective discussions and support women in informed decision making through the provision of a birth reflections service.
Take responsibility in the triage of referrals into the service from other health professionals and prioritise appointments
Act as an advocate for the woman and birthing person. Communicate, represent and negotiate their values, wishes and informed decisions in relation to their care in collaboration with the multidisciplinary tea
Ensure the individual needs of women and birthing people in relation to information and safeguarding, overall physical and mental health are appropriately identified and they are signposted and/or referred to an additional or alternative service or healthcare professional.
