We are excited to share an exciting Band 5 opportunity in our Bladder and Bowel Service as a Specialist Nurse. If you're passionate about patient care and rehabilitation and would like to make a difference to someone's life each day, we would love to hear from you! This role will enable you to be supported to complete a wide range of trainings and competencies to develop your skills and knowledge within a Specialist Service.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our team and use your specialist skills within our Bladder and Bowel Service in clinic settings and visiting patients in their homes. You will be involved in the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of care programmes for individuals teaching and supporting both staff and carers.
We would welcome applications from individuals due to complete their Registered Nurse Training as well as nurse colleagues looking to enhance their skills in the Specialist Sector
This position will be supporting the service across the East Locality, consisting of Brighton & Hove, High Weald, Lewes and Havens ., You will be responsible for conducting clinics, managing a caseload of patients with bladder and bowel dysfunction, and carrying out domiciliary visits. This will include assessing and supporting patients to optimise their quality of life living with a bladder and/or bowel condition, carrying out holistic continence assessments, and advising on self-management programmes and management options.
We also provide ongoing education programmes and support to other healthcare professionals/workers and promote excellence in continence nursing care.
You will need to able to drive with a full UK licence due to the geographic area covered by the team., As a registered nurse the post holder is required to adhere to NMC standards and guidelines of practice, education and conduct. The post holder is a member of the Bladder & Bowel Service and responsibilities will include assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation of care programmes for individuals without direct supervision. The post holder will regularly deputise for the Bladder & Bowel Specialist Nurse Team Leader. The post holder will be expected to teach and support programmes of care to qualified/unqualified staff and formal/ informal carers.
