Full Job Description

As a Community Support Worker, you will support our members in London to achieve their goals, whilst maximising their independence and wellbeing.

You'll carry out risk assessments and identify the needs of individuals and how to meet them, responding to queries and feedback to better co-ordinate services.

Providing a member-led service, you'll collaboratively plan and oversee the delivery of specialist interventions, wellbeing programmes, rehabilitation events and other activities, focusing on promoting our members' independence and wellbeing.

Additionally, you will:

- Act as the service co-ordinator and main point of contact for members
- Demonstrate and issue equipment
- Support the development and work of our volunteers
- Support our partnerships for joint working, member support and future programmes
- Ensure compliance with safeguarding and risk management policies

- Demonstrable experience and knowledge of completing comprehensive, holistic assessments
- Experience of delivering remote and face to face services
- The ability to effectively use assessment tools and action plans to deliver person centred outcomes and be confident in making onward referrals
- The ability to identify safeguarding concerns and act in line with policies
- Excellence in team working and collaboration
- To be engaging, proactive and self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously and make decisions
- The ability to prioritise a diverse range of tasks whilst remaining calm under pressure and meeting deadlines
- Willingness and ability to share knowledge, skills and experience and support others in their learning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to network at all levels internally and externally
- The ability to build positive and effective professional relationships with members and their networks
- Behaviours which are in accordance with Blind Veterans UK values and policies
- Competence in use of Microsoft office suite and other applications and systems used to organise, document, store and plan work
- A relevant Level 4 qualification (at a minimum) or equivalent experience
